Webacom hosts Chamber Mixer

Mark Corbett, Marketing Manager for the Nanaimo Museum even brought a guest all the way from Brazil. She is a tax lawyer and has never visited Canada before. Thanks Mark!

We had many new faces including Lee’s Chicken, Nanaimo Subway (they catered the event), Vancouver Island Conference Centre, Nanaimo Port Authority, Future Shop, United Carpet and a very special visit from the RCMP, Superintendent Norm McPHAIL. Superintendent McPHAIL recently moved from Whistler, BC and is the new Officer in Charge of the Nanaimo RCMP Detachment. Of particular interest was a fellow member of the RCMP Norm Fleming that both Superintendent McPHAIL and Jay Somerville (Webacom CEO) worked with in the past. Welcome to Nanaimo Superintendent McPHAIL! We behaved, right?

The evening began with a demonstration on “Open Circle Networking” presented by Nick West, Business Coach. As many may know when attending social events it’s often difficult to network with new people when groups of people cluster in a circle. Thus the concept, open circle networking, allowing people to join conversations without having to butt in.

As the evening progressed Webacom announced it’s free QR Code Creator, www.webacom.com/qr to help businesses wanting to use QR codes for advertising and promotion. Webacom also announced the launching of the new Nanaimo Chamber website, www.nanaimochamber.bc.ca.

Ralph Kirby, Marketing Manager for the Nanaimo Chamber did an excellent job networking, making announcements and collecting business cards.
